GIVING BACK

As North America’s first festival lounge to give back, charitable giving has been at the heart of NKPR’s IT Lounge since its beginning. This year, the IT HOUSE x PRODUCERS BALL will continue the tradition by helping raise funds in support of Artists for Peace and Justice (APJ) in partnership with Toronto’s premier Rock and Roll photography gallery, Analogue Gallery.

Photographs will be exhibited throughout the event with works available for purchase during an exclusive exhibition on the evening of September 11, 2017. For each photograph sold at the IT House x Producers Ball, 10% will go back to Artists for Peace and Justice.

ANALOGUE GALLERY

Founded in 2009, Analogue instantly became Canada’s premier Rock & Roll gallery. A bastion of culture, a showplace for established and emerging bands, and a unique event space, it has taken on a life of its own. At the heart of it all, is an incredible and unique set of images. Shot by music’s most famous and, in many cases, notorious photographers, the extraordinary work on Analogue’s walls and in its archive spans more than six decades.

Capturing the sound, the fury, and all the quiet moments in between, onstage and off, Analogue features legends like The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Diana Ross, Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, and many, many others. With a roster of talent that includes Ken Regan, Barrie Wentzell, Jill Furmanovsky, Neal Preston, Don Hunstein, and more, the collection ranges in style and era, genre and form. With an astonishing, always-evolving collection, Analogue Gallery represents fine art Rock & Roll photography at its very best, broken strings, empty bottles, beauty, terror, triumph and all.

Artists for Peace and Justice (APJ) is a non-profit organization founded by Oscar-winning Canadian director Paul Haggis. This cause encourages peace and social justice, addressing issues of poverty around the world with an immediate focus on raising funds and awareness to support long-term, sustainable development in Haiti. APJ is committed to empowering local communities with programs in education, healthcare and dignity with an immediate goal to serve children and their families in the poorest communities in Haiti. In October 2010, Artists for Peace and Justice opened the doors to the Academy for Peace and Justice, just months after the earthquake. The Academy for Peace and Justice provides children from the poorest communities in Haiti with free middle and secondary school education and is the only free public high school on Port-au-Prince.

Since launching APJ in Canada over nine years ago, NKPR has helped raise more than $30 million dollars for the cause. For more information on APJ, follow @artistsforpeace on Twitter and visit their website: apjnow.org
