Day two of the IT Lounge 2018 began on September 7th 2018. The Lise Watier activation sparkled and the vintage-inspired corner that Swarovski occupied was ready for another day of glam photoshoots. The morning was filled with interviews behind-the-scenes with Drew Scott, jumping around to parts of the ITHouse- including a mid-interview game of ping-pong with CP24 Breakfast’s Bill Coulter!
The panel of the day was centred on this year’s theme of Music and Film! Moderated by Eric Alper, the panellists discussed the worlds colliding and explored the importance of sound complimenting a storyline. Michael Perlmutter described the relationship perfectly when he said “music and film are two extraordinary artforms that have the ability to story-tell. And they complement each other. Music helps to support. Music helps to support the story and the sonic vision.”
The panel went in depth about the many different types of sound incorporated in film and the influential role of music. The addition of melodies and noises in a soundscape helps to persuade the watcher into believing a story, and while adding music may be crucial to help tell the anecdote; the power of silence is equally as important.
As the afternoon progressed, Canadian legends The Barenaked Ladies stopped by! The band was seen mingling with friends, and even enjoying FLOW and Nomz organic between visits to get touch ups from Lise Watier!
Karl Wolfe and London Brown also made a pit stop in the afternoon. They both had lively energy that kept everyone laughing as they posed for photos in The Rolling Stone Photobooth and with the Lise Watier stage!
The day wasn’t over until the sweet Jacob Tremblay stopped by! He expressed his love of Tim Horton’s doughnuts and of course took advantage of the life-sized games throughout the afternoon!
Day two was a full and fun day and continued on with the annual Producers Ball that evening where all guests enjoyed a night of great music, food, drinks, and of course, amazing company!
Stay tuned for the final daily recap tomorrow and see more on #NKPRIT18!
